We’re Going To Bruges!
A few weeks ago I applied to attend the 6th UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism in Bruges. I expected to maybe get approved for online attendance (no reason to not be, tbh). The event, organized by the UNWTO and my newest alma mater (the Basque Culinary Center) was supposed to be held in 2020 but due to obvious reasons, namely COVID, it got pushed back.
Well, today, on what seems to be the latest in a streak of good luck, I got an email informing me my application to attend in person had been accepted 🙌
And let me tell you, this is probably the most excited I’ve ever been for a forum in. My. Life! (Is this what real adulting feels like?) Mostly because the activities on the program look amazeballs. Lord, I hope no one from the UNWTO sees this post, lest they rescind my invite due to my terrible vocab 😂 Anyways, the activities include the usual speeches and sessions, three different masterclasses, culinary experiences, lunches, dinners, and drinks. It appears to be a shorter program than previous editions, but with restrictions still in place, it would have been hard to go all out.
I expect to run into one or two familiar faces at the very least.
So, I guess I’ll see you in Bruges?
